We work hard to keep our computers up-to-date and to train our students to study and work in the 21st century. Throughout elementary and secondary school, students have the opportunity to develop computer skills and to use technology to enhance their learning.
 
 Internet Connection:
 • Our school receives a radio signal from a local Internet Service Provider to connect to the internet with a 256K bandwidth connection.
 • Internally computers connect through our server via Ethernet cables and/or via a wireless hub.
 • Externally our dorms, elementary school and local teachers’ homes connect to the internet through a wireless access point connected to a switch hub in the Secondary school computer lab.
    

 

 Elementary Computer Lab:
 • 12 student workstations connected by Ethernet cables to a switch that is connected to the secondary school lab via a wireless access point.
 
 Elementary Computer Classes:
 • Grades K-5: Students learn basic computer skills.
 • Grade 6: Students improve their keyboarding skills and learn the basics of Microsoft Office applications.
 
 Secondary Computer Lab:
 • 20 student workstations connected via Ethernet cables to a switch
 • 1 teacher workstation connected via Ethernet cables to a switch
 • 1 technician workstation connected via Ethernet cables to a switch
 • 1 server workstation connected via Ethernet cables to a switch
 
 Secondary Classes which Advance the Students’ Use of Technology:
 • Yearbook: Students gain extensive experience using Adobe Photoshop to edit pictures and to make pages with numerous elements.
 • Photography: Students learn how to use Photoshop to edit their digital pictures.
 • Graphic Design: Students use Photoshop to design their own graphics.
 • Web Design: Students learn the basics of web page and website design.
 
 Library:
 • 7 student workstations connected to a switch that is connected to the switch in the secondary school computer lab
 • 1 student/librarian workstation connected to a switch that is connected to the switch in the secondary school computer lab
 • 1 dedicated computer using the automated Koha Open Source Library System to access the online card catalog
 • 1 dedicated computer at the check-out counter equipped with a barcode reader and the Koha Open Source Library System.

  


 
 Dormitory Computers:
 • Each dorm is equipped with at least two student workstations connected by Ethernet cables to a switch that is connected to the secondary school lab via a wireless access point.
